Who we are
BTB Surveyors Limited (“BTB Surveyors”, “we”, “us”) arranges residential and commercial property surveys and valuations across England. We are a lead-generation and booking service: we take your enquiry, agree the price and arrange the appointment. The survey itself is carried out by an independent surveyor from our partner network, each of whom is regulated by RICS or RPSA and carries professional indemnity insurance.

We are the data controller for the personal information you provide through this website.
What we collect
- Enquiry and quote details — your name, telephone number, email address, the property address, property type and value band, the survey type you want and your preferred dates.
- Booking details — access arrangements, estate agent contact details, and any notes you give us about the property.
- Correspondence — emails, call notes and messages between us.
- Website usage — pages viewed, device and browser information, collected through analytics cookies where you have consented.
We do not collect or store payment card details through this website.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote — necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To arrange and manage your survey booking — performance of our contract with you.
- To keep accounting, tax and insurance records — legal obligation and our legitimate interests.
- To improve this website — our legitimate interests, using analytics only where you have consented to cookies.
- To send you marketing — only where you have asked us to. You can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with, and when
We do not pass your details to a surveyor when you make an enquiry or receive a quote. At that stage your information stays with us.
Your details are shared with a partner surveyor only once you have accepted a quote and the survey is booked — and then only the information that surveyor needs in order to carry out the work: your name and contact details, the property address, the access arrangements and the agreed scope. We will tell you who the surveyor is.
From that point the partner surveyor is a data controller in their own right for the survey they carry out and the report they produce, and their own privacy notice will apply to that work.
We also share information with:
- our IT, email and hosting suppliers, who process data on our behalf under written contract;
- our accountants, insurers and professional advisers, where necessary;
- law enforcement, regulators or other third parties where we are legally required to do so.
We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking — 12 months.
- Completed bookings and related correspondence — 6 years from completion, to cover our contractual, tax and insurance obligations.
- Analytics data — for the retention period set by our analytics provider.
